That concludes the fourth running of the Vale of Clwyd Classic organised by Guy Woodcock and the CVMC team.
The 'Clwyd Classic' is now firmly established on the Historic calendar and is regarded as a ‘must do’ on everyone's list!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Thank you from Guy:

"Massive thanks to everybody who helped yesterday, those local clubs who ran tests, all the marshals who I badgered to help out, all the team for working so hard over last 6 months and more especially after last week. I think we pulled it off but a few dramas which we hope the crews didn't see or notice but finally thanks to all those who entered and see you on the 5th September 2015".

A few competitors comments:

Roger Powley"Probably the best round of the HRCR championship in my opinion. Amazing route, amazing tests and amazing organisation! A real challenge for both drivers and navigators combined.
Well done to all involved!"

5"Many thanks to Guy and all the CVMC team plus other local clubs, countless marshals and other helpers for a great event. 13 tests and 7 regularities made it a full day and up there among the best HRCR events I have done. Well done to all crews who made the finish, there was more forest than most old cars would be used to on a single day road rally and getting regs 4 and 5 to plot / sort out after lunch was a challenge for the masters and experts, let alone the novices. So it was all a great challenge for car, driver and navigator". 58"And thank you from car 58. We might not trouble the engravers but we enjoyed ourselves. The organisers' attention to detail was exemplary, and the marshalling "spot on". Trying a different b*lls up on each event, this time, on the opening Jogularity, I read the times column as the miles......... Consequently we missed the first junction and first TC. Navigating a Jogularity having cocked-up the first instruction - you are doomed..... But Clogginogg was terrific. Once I realised that the map hand-out was on the large-scale, the old forestry reading came back from the past. Can we have the same again next year, please".
51"A massive congratulations to Guy and the CVMC team for putting on such a fantastic event. The 'regularity' blast through Clocaenog was a massive highlight for me ( I arrived early, but was enjoying myself too much to slow down!), and my mini seemed to skip along with the extra ground clearance and knobbly tyres defiantely being the right choice!!! I loved the amount of whites used (more next year please) and the lanes in and around map 116 must be some of the best in the country. Thought the mix of test surfaces were great and ended up going home with a bottle of bubbly courtesy of Mr. Proffitt after setting fastest time in his field.....thankyou, it was very nice....hiccup!!! Thankyou to all the marshals - happy and chatty and enjoying the day. Superb event and have set such a high standard, I'm looking forward to next year to see if Guy has any more tricks up his rally sleeve?" Rikki"Thanks to a great organising team on the Vale of Clwyd Classic 2014, a great team of marshals, a great collection of fellow competitors and the spectating public along the route (who, unknowingly gave much assurance on some of the remote sections!). Commiserations to Phill (Harrison), relegated to unofficial passage control! 10 hours of amazing fun, adrenaline, stress, beautiful roads, tracks and countryside. I think the crew of Apollo 13 had more control of their situation, than we did, for most of the time. Finally, a huge thank you to Rikki, Squeak and Baz for making it possible and suffering my errant endeavours! I'll be back - Inshallah! (Anthony - apologies for the lawn!)"
