Rounders Match 14-08-08

Surprisingly the weather was good for the 5th annual Rounders match between Rhyl & District M.C and ourselves at the Salusbury Arms.
Our Captain Gareth Williams won the toss and decided for us to bowl first.
Too start with we were out numbered 11 to 16, but as the evening continued more members turned up for both sides, with I think Clwyd Vale with a couple more players than Rhyl in total.
Dei Rowlands did his best to try and decapitate Rhyl Chairman Baz Green by throwing his bat a bit too high instead of dropping it as he went for his run.
Rhyl where all out for 59 runs, so we had our work cut out.
We managed to accumulate 68 runs all out much to the dismay of Baz Green.
By now it was 8.30pm and Rhyl wanted to have another round, so it was decided due to the sun going down that each team would have 15 minutes each, at the end of the 30 minutes Clwyd Vale managed to keep hold of the lead, the final score being Clwyd Vale 97 Rhyl 86.
