Organisers; Myf Owen and Eddie
Blackwell.
Eddie and Myf were hard at work by the
time we arrived at the stand at 8:30am helped by Phill Harrison,
Carl Lumb and Peter Williams. We got to work erecting the
Easy-Up, tables, display Board etc with Eddie parking the cars
up as club members arrived.
Pat was in charge of catering and kept
everyone fuelled with refreshments throughout the day.
We had 14 cars on the stand ranging from
road cars to Rally Cars, old and modern and also Ian Glass’s
1950’s Rover Grand Prix car, Eddie even found an old invalid
carriage to bring along which I think he’s going to use now he’s
getting near retirement.
The rain held off until about 11:00am
but from then on it never stopped raining and unfortunately the
day was cut short due to the atrocious weather conditions.
Though we did see plenty of old friends from other clubs while
we were there so we had a chance to catch up and chew the fat.
Thanks to all those who tuned up to help
and brought their cars along and a big thank you to Eddie and
Myf for organising the stand.
Stuart Jones,
Club Chairman.
