You have raised £3,000 (£3,500 with Gift Aid) so far for Wales Air Ambulance.

The final total will be announced once all monies are in.

This very special and unique event would not have taken place without the support and input from theRupert Lomax dedicated people in the rally community, which lead to this Charity event to be an extremely successful and enjoyable day for all. We are indeed truly grateful to the Forestry Commission in allowing us to use the track at the Alwen Forest in particular Sarah Hurford and Irwin Ellis for their valuable assistance and advice throughout the planning process.

Luke FrancisThe event gave the general public the opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement of being in an actual forest rally car driven by highly enthusiastic and competitive drivers, which enhanced the overall experience of rallying for the paying public. The passenger-ride gave an insight into the exciting sport of rallying and hopefully encourages new people into motor sport. Having received feedback from some of the first passengers the organisers knew that the track and format for the charity event was correct in all of its preparation for the day.

‘Far better than a multimillion pound theme park ride, all credit to the organisers, drivers, crews and marshals for making Sundays Charity Rally Day a success. I’m sure everyone like myself thoroughly enjoyed the experience, an experience to savour for some time to come. Hopefully this will be repeated next year.’ (David Brown from Broughton.)

We all had a great day today. Hubby and son had a ball. Just wanted to say thank you to you all. Hope you reach your target.’ (Kath Hewitt).

Just wanted to say what a fantastic event you put on yesterday. I came to watch whilst my husband and three friends took part in the rally ride, they enjoyed it so much they had a second run too! Everything was so well organized, even the weather. Congratulations, you should be proud of yourselves. Let’s hope this becomes an annual event.’ (Carol Ellis-Jones)

Hello, Just a brief note to thank you very much for organising the above event. I had an absolutely brilliant ride, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, vote of thanks also to all the volunteer marshals and the drivers who participated. I hope you managed to reach your target for the charity, which is a very worthwhile cause. Kind regards,’ (Marilyn Roobottom)

Drivers enjoyed the chance to show off their skills to the general public and commented that the track selected gave challenging variety and excellent practice opportunity for them by also giving the passengers a taste of what to expect in a real rally. The drivers have volunteered their services in the next charity passenger day as they have themselves enjoyed this event. Geoff Jones

’We could do with this track for testing as it has everything needed to set up cars for forest rally’ (Geoff Jones)

Geoff enjoyed the day so much that he has put a video on u-tube showing what the passengers experienced on their ride through the forest, find the video at: ‘Geoff Jones CVMC Charity Day‘. Photos of the day are also available to see at www.rpphotography.co.uk.

On behalf of the organising committee, we would like to thank all drivers, marshals and radio crews for their involvement in this event and making the day enjoyable for all. Finally and most importantly, we wish to thank the public for their participation in making the day a success and assisting us in raising money for The Wales Air Ambulance.

Rod Pierce of RP Rally Photography took over 700 photos of you all on the day. He has completed this massive undertaking so please visit: www.rpphotography.co.uk and see if yours is there.

Firstly make sure you are eligible then download the pdf FileEntry Form

We need a separate Registration and Entry Form completed and signed for every ticket applied for. Please contact the Event Secretary; charityrides@cvmc.org.uk should you require a significant number of tickets.
  • Gift Aid; please complete and sign if appropriate:

The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor. Charities or CASCs take your donation - which is money you've already paid tax on - and reclaim the basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its 'gross' equivalent - the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.

Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £25 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £31.25 to the charity. www.hmrc.gov.uk/individuals/giving/gift-aid.htm#1

  • Send a cheque for £25, per entry, made payable to 'Wales Air Ambulance' with the completed and signed forms to:

Andy Darlington, Ty Argoed,  Bryn Road, Bryn-y-baal, Mold, Flintshire. CH7 6WL.
