Report:
Set in a natural amphitheatre the new venue for
The Dennis Wells Memorial Trial was popular with
many, you could stand on the rim and see the
event unfold below you.
With 42 competitors it was a little
congested at times, resembling Piccadilly Circus
at rush hour, not that I know what Piccadilly
Circus at rush hour looks like… We have been
promised a second field for the next event.
The morning dew was soon burnt off by the
gorgeous April sunshine but not before a clubman
leaded the whole field after the first round of
8 tests.
It didn’t last long as Duncan Stephens managed
to drop only 15 points on round 2 to take the
lead.
After lunch the competitors completed one more
round before stumps were drawn. But not before
Barrie Parker took over the lead by only
dropping 8 points on the round.
With the marshals cleaning-up the field, Sue
Dale worked her magic on the results, think of a
number multiply it by the time of day and divide
it by the date, whatever method she uses we were
able to declare the winners.

A Big Thank You
to all the club members who gave up their time
freely.
Not only supporting the event but supporting the
club and making this year’s event one Dennis
himself would have been proud of. Let us hope
you have shown others the way.
The next trial is The HCC Wales graciously
sponsored by Peter Williams on the 24th
July.
Make a note in your diary
THANK YOU TO ALL.
Graham (Thomas)
Secretary of the Meeting
