Vale Motor Club's President, David Richards,
made a surprise visit to the start of the HCC
Wales Farrington Trophy and flagged away the
first few cars in appalling weather.

1, Ian Lloyd & Cyril Jones, eventually finishing
2nd Overall with Car 2, Dylan Davies & Dale
Furniss, taking overall honours and The
Farrington and HCC Wales Trophies.

with good humour and dogged determination to
enable the rally to go ahead despite the

Wins 2 awards
We felt that the Farrington last year had
been a great success and to our absolute delight we’ve
actually won 2 awards. Firstly, we’ve won the Jack Romain
Trophy, voted for by the representatives at the Northern
Centre of the Welsh Association. Joint Clerks of the Course
John Broadhurst and Gareth Williams recently attended the
Awards Dinner at Llandrindod Wells to collect the trophy on
behalf of CVMC. Secondly, at the recent ANWCC Dinner Dance it was announced
that the rally had won the Best Road Rally for 2008, the
Farrington team are particularly proud to have won this
award as it is voted for by the competitors. We would like to thank everyone who helped make the event a
success - Marshalls, PR crews, Committee members etc. Roll on November 2009, let’s see if we can do even better.
